NEWS20.05.08 Ukraine - EU: the Agency deepens cooperation with the Slovak RepublicThe working meeting of the Head of International Department of the State Agency of Ukraine for Investments and Innovations (hereafter – the Agency) Nataliia Tymoshenko with territorial manager for CIS countries and Baltic region of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency, (hereafter - SARIO) Alexander Skurla was held on May, 16 2008.
The participants of the meeting discussed several issues regarding the continuation of cooperation between the Agency and SARIO according to the Protocol of Ukrainian-Slovak bilateral consultations signed in December 2007 and the draft document "Activities of the Ukrainian-Slovak cooperation in 2008 with the aim of Ukraine’s integration to the EU".
The previous agreement was reached on holding consultations this year in Bratislava (Slovakia). It is expected that Ukrainian delegation members during the visit to Slovakia will visit one of the regional offices of SARIO to get acquainted with his work.
Members of the meeting also discussed the optimization of cooperation between InvestUkraine and SARIO. For this purpose, an agreement was reached on the inclusion of representatives of InvestUkraine to the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the Ukrainian-Slovak consultations.
At the end of the meeting Alexander Skurla noted that the draft program of Ukrainian-Slovak consultations scheduled for August-September 2008 will be prepared by SARIO on the basis of proposals of Ukrainian side and handed over to the Agency for harmonization.
