The participants of the conference familiarized with basic principles of technical regulation in the European Union and the World Trade Organization, the practice of reforming the system of technical regulation of new countries - EU members and the WTO. In particular, they discussed issues of economic development and protection of consumer rights, creating the preconditions of economic development and growing business, the application of international experience in the Ukraine, as well as reforming the system of technical regulation in selected areas of the economy.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Government and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, ministries and agencies, representatives of the World Bank in Ukraine, international organizations, Ukrainian and foreign business communities, think tanks and media.
